Recognition highlights measurable improvements in shelf execution, on-shelf availability, and planogram automation across 1,200+ stores
PALO ALTO, Calif. — April 16, 2026 – SymphonyAI, a global leader in Vertical AI and QuikTrip have been named winners of the 2026 Convenience Store News Category Excellence Award for Planogram Excellence, recognizing their AI-driven collaboration to improve shelf execution, on-shelf availability, and planogram automation across more than 1,200 QuikTrip stores in the United States.
Now in its second year, the Category Excellence Awards recognize outstanding collaboration between a retailer category manager and their supplier partner, with winners selected based on joint contributions and measurable business results.
QuikTrip worked with SymphonyAI to advance planogram execution as it expanded its store footprint. This included capabilities from SymphonyAI’s CINDE Connected Retail, including planogram design, store clustering, and AI-powered shelf intelligence using computer vision to help validate whether what’s on the shelf aligns with the plan.
Using image capture and computer vision, QuikTrip can now gain greater visibility into shelf conditions against authorized planograms, helping identify out-of-stocks, misplaced items, and execution gaps. This supports faster response and more consistent execution across stores.
By automating elements of planogram management and improving visibility into execution, QuikTrip scaled its operations from approximately 700 stores to more than 1,200 while maintaining a consistent category support structure.
“The new standard for planogram excellence is continuously aligning strategy with what’s actually happening in the store,” said Manish Choudhary, president of retail at SymphonyAI. “Leading retailers like QuikTrip are moving toward a connected model, where planning, execution, and store conditions are continuously linked. When you close that gap, teams operate with greater precision, respond faster to shelf conditions, and drive more consistent outcomes across every location.”
The collaboration has supported measurable improvements across planning, execution, and operations:
- Supported improvements in on-shelf availability and execution consistency through continuous shelf validation
- Reduced manual effort and accelerated planogram updates, resets and product introductions
- Increased operational efficiency by directing store labor to specific high-impact execution gaps
- Enabled remote visibility into shelf conditions across all store types, including hard-to-reach locations
