OSA (On shelf availability)

What is OSA (On shelf availability) ?

OSA is an important measure of products available for purchase because it is a measure of products physically present on the shelves or other fixtures found in retail environments.

Why is OSA (On shelf availability) important?

OSA is one of the most important operational acronyms in retail because it assesses a retailer’s performance through the eyes of the shopper. OSA is valuable supply chain metric because inventory may be present throughout the supply chain, but if it is in transit or in a retailer’s back room it isn’t available on shelf for purchase by shoppers.
