DALLAS – Dec. 18, 2020 – SymphonyAI, the leading global provider of integrated AI-enabled marketing, merchandising and supply chain solutions for FMCG retailers and manufacturers, today announced that Dagrofa, one of the leading Danish grocery retailers, has selected SymphonyAI’s category planning solutions to better meet customer demands in one of Europe’s most competitive markets.
The Dagrofa Group is one of few grocery groups in Denmark that has independent merchants that operate the vast majority of its stores. Dagrofa operates MENY, SPAR, Min Købmand and Let-Køb banners – a total of approximately 514 stores.
Dagrofa’s category managers needed a tool and common process to put the full range it sells into stores. Decisions around assortment were based on sales data and market data but lacked an overall way to streamline tasks for category insights, evaluation, planning and retail execution. Specifically, it required a range management tool for category use and also wanted to create the best cluster-level assortments.
“The extensive FMCG retail experience that SymphonyAI brings to the table, plus their innovative AI-enabled solutions, really made the difference in our evaluation of prospective vendors to take us to our new phase of growth,” said Michael Christensen, Category Director, Dagrofa. “Dagrofa’s motto is ‘stronger together’ (#stærkeresammen), and we believe the partnership with SymphonyAI will certainly make us stronger. We’re confident that the new solutions will enable us to increase product relevance to our customers – and delight them in the process.”
Dagrofa will now be able to deliver more granular assortment clusters with relevant shelf space plans. In addition, its improved assortment optimization will enable assortments that incorporate more data-driven decisions around current customer behavior. Also, the new solution will help Dagrofa better support future store clusters and store-specific space solutions, contributing to increased sales and gross profits.
“We’re delighted that Dagrofa selected us over some very strong competition,” said Chris Koziol, CEO, SymphonyAI. “Most of all, we know that our category planning solutions have the maturity and proven success with our retailer customers around the world – and we’re excited to be part of Dagrofa’s success in reaching its strategic goals.”
