German hypermarket retailer, Globus, partners with SymphonyAI to enhance online ordering for “Click and Go” service to customers

DALLAS – August 21, 2018 – SymphonyAI, the leading global provider of Artificial Intelligence-enabled decision platforms, solutions and customer-centric insights that drive validated growth for retailers and CPG manufacturers, announced that German hypermarket retailer, Globus, has gone live with its “Click and Go” solution in the Czech Republic.

Globus SB Warenhaus Holding operates more than 70 hypermarkets across Germany, the Czech Republic and Russia. In addition to its broad footprint of hypermarkets, it also has retail outlets in DIY and consumer electronics.

Globus SB Warenhaus required a self-contained, stand-alone order preparation solution to support online orders, which would be fulfilled through in-store picking. They chose SymphonyAI’s Click and Collect solutions to manage fulfillment for the newly proposed service Click and Go – online ordering with in-store pick up. Other service models are in consideration currently. For example, Click and Reserve – online item selection with in-store payment and pick up, and Home Delivery – online ordering with door-to-door delivery. The decision to implement these services was made based on end-customer feedback and demand in the near future.

To connect in-store picking with their broader supply chain, Globus SB Warenhaus integrated the solutions with SAP Retail. The stores in the Czech Republic are the first to implement, taking only three months for the first store to go live, with another 13-store roll out to follow the starting phase in 2018.

“We are delighted with SymphonyAI’s ability to deliver the click and collect solution within our agreed timeframe,” said Ondrej Dvorak, head of multichannel logistic processes at the Czech Globus operations. “More importantly, the implementation was made without causing disruption to our infrastructure or daily store operations and has already proven to have easy handling for high operational excellence.”

“Our experience with retailers across Europe means we have a proven approach to delivering online ordering for our retail clients quickly, efficiently and with minimal disruption,” said Arnaud Gauthier, President CCO for EMEA at SymphonyAI. “Whether the order is fulfilled via in-store order preparation, Drive or Dark store models, we are able to meet the retailer’s needs and deliver the right solution for its specific environment. We are looking forward working with Globus on the complete program rollout.”
