Scenario: Server Build

To commence Server Build, a user submits a Service Request, kickstarting the Service Automation engine to streamline the process through various integrations. This encompasses Infoblox for IP and DNS reservation, V-Center for VM creation, IP address configuration, disk formatting, and local account creation. Additionally, Ansible handles server hardening, ITSM application integrates for CMDB details, Windows Deployment Kit manages authentication and licensing, and SMTP Server/SendGrid handles notifications. This integrated approach promotes a cohesive and efficient workflow for server building.

Scenario: Employee Onboarding

When onboarding a new employee in, the HR initiate the process, prompting the Service Automation engine to seamlessly interact with various applications. This involves engaging with Local Active Directory to create the user, add them to the Active Directory, and include them in the security group. Integration with Microsoft O365 follows, ensuring the creation of the user in O365, license assignment, and configuring email settings. Further, connectivity with Lotus Notes client facilitates ID creation. Remotely triggering a Jenkins job enables the provisioning or deletion of essential AWS resources. Using Terraform with AWS S3 backend, the workflow dynamically manages resource provisioning and deletion based on the selected architecture type in the catalog. After successful provisioning, the workflow deploys a “ngnix” container on EC2 instances.
