Teams M365 Copilot, acting as an MCP client, can connect to the IRIS MCP server to query industrial intelligence directly from within the familiar Teams conversational interface. Users could ask, for example, “What’s causing the pressure spike at Pump-2?” or “Is any asset nearing its maintenance threshold?” and Copilot would fetch contextual answers from IRIS in real time.

Actionable Workflows via Teams M365 Copilot

Beyond querying data, Teams M365 Copilot can invoke IRIS-enabled actions—such as triggering an inspection, escalating alerts, or updating operational workflows—through MCP’s ability to expose callable tools. Users could say, “Initiate a diagnostic on Conveyor-5,” and Copilot would translate that into an MCP-mediated call to IRIS Foundry.
